State-of-the-Art Care for Gorgeous Smiles

At Independence Dental, we believe that high-quality dental care should always be 3 things: fast, precise, and comfortable. In order to accomplish this, we need to have the right instruments, which is why Dr. Bhalla has invested in some of the latest dental technology available today. With the advanced tools listed below, she’s able to address a wider variety of dental problems in less time while keeping our patients much more relaxed…what’s not to love about that! When you’re ready to experience the very best that modern-day dentistry has to offer, contact us today.

Carestream Intraoral Camera

Thanks to our intraoral camera, you’ll finally be able to see what your dentist is talking about! This small device fits easily into the mouth and can capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums. These can then be displayed on a large chairside monitor for you to go over with Dr. Bhalla. They’ll help you gain a whole new level of understanding concerning your dental health, enabling Dr. Bhalla to show you why you might need a treatment as opposed to just telling you.

Digital X-Rays

Traditional film-based X-rays are slow, require toxic chemicals to be developed, and make people worry about radiation exposure, but thanks to digital X-rays, these are now problems of the past. They’re able to create images almost instantly, no chemicals are necessary, and they even reduce radiation exposure by up to 80%! Plus, we can alter and manipulate the X-rays just like any other digital image so you can view and better understand them with your dentist.

Itero 5D Lite+ Digital Impression System

We use dental impressions to design a wide variety of treatments, ranging from dental crowns to Invisalign and more, and now we’re able to create them without having a patient bite into odd-tasting putty. Instead, a small scanner is used to capture multiple images of the teeth that are digitally stitched together to create a fully 3D impression. This process is much faster and more comfortable than the traditional one, and it even yields a better quality impression as well!

Picasso® Soft Tissue Laser

In the past, if a dentist needed to treat a patient’s gums, this usually involved using tools like scalpels and sutures. Now, these procedures can be performed quickly and painlessly using our soft tissue laser. Using its highly-concentrated beam of light, Dr. Bhalla can quickly eliminate bacteria below the gum line, remove infected tissue, and even perform beautifying gum lifts, all while reducing post-treatment bleeding and swelling. The device itself creates very little heat, vibration, or noise, making any procedure a comfortable experience from start to finish.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Does going to the dentist make you or your child feel a bit nervous? If so, then we can easily take the edge off with nitrous oxide sedation, better known as “laughing gas.” A patient simply breathes in the colorless, odorless gas through a small nasal mask, and within a minute, a warm blanket of relaxation will wash over them. The mask stays on for the entire appointment, and when it’s removed, the gas’ effects completely go away as fast as they came on, allowing a patient to quickly resume their day.

TMJ Therapy

The temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, is an often overlooked part of oral health, but we don’t miss it here at Independence Dental. It’s the joint in your lower jaw that allows it to move in all directions, and like other joints in the body, it can sometimes develop problems due to strain, stress, or injury. This can lead to symptoms like a stiff and painful jaw, chronic headaches, and even soreness in the neck and shoulders. Thankfully, Dr. Bhalla, Dentist in Plano, Texas, is able to diagnose and treat these issues to ensure that our TMJ-patients are able to go through their days completely pain-free.
